Coming back on TV after a lapse of four years, Kim Hyun Joong ( 28
years old ) tried to get rid of flower boy image, and even changed his
voice.
In the premiere of the new KBS2 TV Wednesday and Thursday drama
‘Inspiring Generation’ starting on 15th January 22:00, Kim Hyun Joong
played Shin Jung Tae, the best fighter in North Korea in the 1930s, he
will appear at the end of child actors scenes, from the fifth episodes
onward, and lead the plot development. Kim Hyun Joong, who played flower
boys in his 2 previous works ‘Boys Over Flowers’ ( 2009 ) and ‘Player
Kiss’ ( 2010 ) intended to transform his image with this latest work.
Souces from ‘Inspiring Generation’ revealed that in order to perfectly
interpret the role of Shin Jung Tae, who is ultra competitive and
intensely loyal, Kim Hyun Joong specially attended martial arts school
for 3 months, and even changed his voice.
Sources from his agency indicated, ‘Even before the first shooting
in November 2013, Kim Hyun Joong had practised with the director Kim
Jung-Kyu to achieve a lower tone of voice, so that it’ll pack a punch
even when he’s delivering very short lines’, ‘Also attended martial arts
school for a few months, to familiarise himself with the basic action
routine, for this comeback after a lapse of four years, he’s devoted
fully to it with great enthusiasm’, ‘Please look forward to this
transformation of his.’
